DSL Terms and Conditions - Certificate and Tolerances
Certificate and Tolerances
Dataweigh will record measurements taken over the equipment's range and will provide a Certificate of Calibration, showing actual performance to a specified tolerance. Tolerances will be as permitted by current UKAS and/or tolerances within specification as stated by the manufacturer of the equipment tested.
As Found Certificate
An 'As Found' Certification Test is conducted without any prior adjustments or repairs being made except for usual preparation prior to usage such as zero balancing or levelling, carried out in accordance with customer normal operating procedures.
Definitive Certificate
'Definitive' Certification Test is conducted after any necessary adjustments have been made to the equipment. Should the equipment require work, adjustment or repair, Dataweigh will quote for the necessary work to be carried out prior to the issue of a Definitive Certificate. If the equipment is covered by a maintenance contract with Dataweigh, adjustments and/or repairs will be carried out prior to the Definitive Test. Dataweigh will reserve the right to charge for additional costs incurred if a Certification Test is interrupted or suspended for any reason outside Dataweigh's control.
Adjustments / Repairs
The Certification Service does not cover adjustments or repairs to the equipment. A Dataweigh maintenance agreement may cover these adjustments.
Traceability
Test Weights used are certified for conformity and traceable to UKAS Standards. The appropriate Certificate of Conformity for the Test Weights and Test Apparatus used will be quoted on the certificate. ISO9000 traceability implies that there is an unbroken chain of acceptable authorised Certificate of Conformity to the National Physical Standards.
Measurement Points
Dataweigh will select pre-determined measurement points unless otherwise agreed. Normally these will be a zero reading and six to twelve other various readings throughout the range of the equipment. Off centre loadings (where applicable) at least four readings will be taken, normally at approximately one quarter of the equipment capacity at various off centre points. The results will be recorded on the certificate as deviation of plus or minus half the differences between the maximum and minimum readings.
Environment
The Certification Service will carry out on-site certification of the equipment in its normal working location.
Transport of Test Weights
For machines with a capacity exceeding
500kg, the customer will be responsible
for the transport of Test Weights from and to
Dataweigh's Service Department.
Handling of Test Weights
The customer is responsible for any damage caused to Test Weights while they are on the customer's premises, except damage caused by the negligence of an employee of Dataweigh. If a customer transports Test Weights to and from their premises or transports on or around their factory or site using either their own transport or hired transport, the customer is liable to compensate Dataweigh for any damage caused to the Test Weights during transportation, loading or unloading of the weights. It must be noted that Test Weights are calibrated precision items and must be handled accordingly.
Accuracy
The Certificate issued under this service is based on readings taken at a particular point in time and location. It does not guarantee the accuracy of the equipment in the future. Equipment Outside Tolerances
If a Certificate Test is carried out, a Certificate will be issued, even if the equipment is outside the prescribed tolerances and the normal Certificate Test charge will be made.
